It’s getting to that time of year when we enjoy nothing more than staying warm indoors and sitting down with a nice hot drink.
Sick of tea and hot chocolate? Ok, probably not, but why not try something new and Plan friendly.
We’ve created some delicious warm drinks for you to make using the Cambridge Weight Plan Water Flavourings. Have a try and let us know what you think.
Mulled Berry Punch
Ingredients
1 tsp Cambridge Weight Plan Raspberry & Elderflower Water Flavouring 1l hot water* 6 whole cloves or ¼ tsp ground cloves 1 cinnamon stick or ½ tsp ground cinnamon 2 star anise
Directions
1. Add all the ingredients to a large heatproof jug
2. Allow to sit for a few minutes so the flavours release
3. Strain through a sieve and serve hot*
Some studies claim that cinnamon contains lots of antioxidants which have been found to have anti-inflammatory effects.
Hot Lemon & Lime Mojito
Ingredients
1 tsp Cambridge Weight Plan Lemon & Lime Water Flavouring 1l hot water* Few slices of lime Some sprigs of fresh mint
Directions
1. Add all the ingredients to a large heatproof jug
2. Allow to sit for a few minutes so the flavours release
3. Pour in to a cup and enjoy!
Mint can be great for the digestive system.
Orange Spiced Brew
Ingredients
1 tsp Cambridge Weight Plan Orange Water Flavouring 1l hot water* 1 cinnamon stick or ½ tsp ground cinnamon 1 small slice of ginger (½ inch) or finely grated Slice of orange to serve
Directions
1. Add all the ingredients to a large heatproof jug
2. Allow to sit for a few minutes so the flavours release
3. Strain through a sieve if you added grated ginger, or leave in if you like the taste
4. Add a slice of orange to serve
Some research claim that ginger is great to drink when you feel a cold coming on. It is a diaphoretic, which means that it will warm you from the inside and promote perspiration.
